VICTORIAN CONNECTION | LEAMINGTON SPA
Heritage Renovation in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire
Four Walls were appointed to sensitively transform a terraced 1875 Victorian home in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire creating a more connected, light-filled space while preserving the architectural integrity of the original structure.
The north-facing kitchen, located at the rear of the property, felt disconnected from the home’s main living areas. Despite the building’s generous proportions, this space was cramped, dim, and isolated – lacking the cohesion modern family life demands.
Blending Period Character with Modern Family Living
With heritage at the forefront, Four Walls designed and built a wrap-around side return extension that reimagines the former side garden as a continuation of the kitchen. Reclaimed Leamington bricks were carefully sourced to create a natural transition between old and new. Conservation requirements were thoughtfully met with a fully glazed roof and floor-to-ceiling window, allowing natural light to flood the once-dark interior.
Internally, a new kitchen was installed, while further works to the downstairs cloakroom and family bathroom supported essential structural and plumbing upgrades – all delivered with the same attention to detail that defines Four Walls’ heritage craftsmanship.
This project is a testament to how heritage buildings can evolve gracefully — where period character is preserved, and everyday living is elevated through intelligent, sympathetic design.
At Four Walls, we specialise in heritage-led renovations that honour the past while enhancing the present.
